So aliexpress had nes clone controllers that I needed to test the nes along with the n8 cart which also clone. When both arrived yesterday it was joy to see if this machine worked.
Powered up with cart inserted but no response from the controller. First thing I thought was the cart may have corrupt sd card for the cart. I cleared the ad card and added my 1game1rom (1G1R) setup. Incase it was that. Nope still nothing.
Researched internet and nothing until I came across a guy talking about PAL to NTSC controller to console and talked about resister needed on PAL controller to make it work on NTSC consoles. He then mentioned the other way around is the PAL console has diodes on each pin if the controller ports.
So solve this it’s to bridge the pins with wire or solder. Wire is easier. I used some legs off resistors to solve this.
So the first picture is before then after. Only did this to controller port 1 and tested. And SUCCESS it worked controller port 2 then got the same treatment. Tested it with my romset and 2 player games all work.
